LA homelessness crisis hits horrifying new low as people take to living in sewers

It’s a new low for Los Angeles.

Some people in the City of Angels have taken to living in storm drains as the city’s homelessness crisis spirals out of control.

Footage showed the horrifying conditions of sewers in South LA, where overflowing trash, human waste and an “unbearable” smell met witnesses at the scene, Fox 11 reported.

A person with brown curly hair kneels outside a small doghouse, which serves as a makeshift shelter, on a litter-strewn concrete slab next to a chain-link fence.

One woman was even seen emerging from a drain where a dog house was used to conceal the opening.

Juan Naula, who has gained a following for clearing trash in LA on behalf of his Clean LA With Me nonprofit, said he couldn’t fathom why someone would live in such conditions. He spotted two people exiting the sewers while cleaning them Monday.

“A person living like a rat — worse than a rat,” he told Fox 11.
